In Central Region, Denmark there are relatively few start-up companies. The lack of growth is due, among other things, to limited access to venture capital which is a form of private equity financing that is provided by venture capital firms or funds to start-ups, early-stage, and emerging companies that have been deemed to have high growth potential or which have demonstrated high growth. Furthermore, it is also due to a lack of entrepreneurial competencies – young people must have access to more knowledge about how to act entrepreneurially, so that more ideas can be implemented and the full potential can be utilized. Business need more knowledge about capital dissemination and funding mechanisms which are important topics due to venture capital. Furthermore business needs more security for purchase of developed products and support in the process is needed. The municipalities want the companies to provide test results and documentation for new technologies but the start-ups do not have the financial buffer to complete this. The municipalities must invest more in this element to facilitate the companies
