The institutions in central region of Denmark varies in level of education, research and knowledge production. Related to welfare technology are the Aarhus University School of Engineering and Department of Public Health. The Alexandra Institute is a private owned non-profit company that works with research, development and innovation in IT with the aim of creating economic growth and welfare in Danish society. VIA University College is an institution of applied science – with a large part of bachelor programs there is common focus on health and welfare technology – this includes research and education based on Research Centre for Health and Welfare Technology. Professionals educated on the Social- and Health Schools (SOSU) provides vocational training and educational programs within the health sciences. SOSU diploma education have a high focus of use in welfare technology in the care of old age citizens. Due to the development of welfare technology there is a need to raise the general level of knowledge and competence of the social and health Professionals in the education and workforce. Academia need to strengthen the collaboration with municipalities and SME ́s in order to develop implementation and evaluation methods. Furthermore academia need to fortify dissemination of knowledge and research in different technology networks, conferences, among stakeholders, health Professionals and older citizens
