Latvia can rightly be considered the land of libraries - less than two million inhabitants own 1,708 libraries, and more than eight hundred of them are public. The National Library, which we call the Castle of Light, and all public libraries are connected by the Light Network. Today's libraries are community centers and informed public support points, with the best examples of content living in a good architectural environment.
